The Cold War Relationship Between Spain and Taiwan
There were exchanges between Spain and Taiwan, trips for leaders of youth organizations. In the 1950s, Taiwan was still hopelessly poor and agricultural so it looked at Spain with a degree of admiration. The KMT were also interested in Franco's policies for social welfare,. But it wouldn't take long before Spanish admiring Taiwanese development.
