Their fights were not the great wars that made men famous. They were forced to deal with persistent skirmishes of attrition, which cost lives and profited no one. And if you decisively beat one roman army, rather than surrendering like a civilized nation, the romans raised another and set it against you. I'll close to night with a rare programming note.
