Lebanese Lira, which is their currency, was pegged to the US dollar for 20 plus years. Today, it's at $93,000 to the dollar. The Lebanese people have been living high and making good salaries compared to a lot of other Middle Eastern countries that were starting to suffer over the last couple of decades. A lot of it was built on a Ponzi scheme type thing.
