The Fallacy of Perfectionism
In explaining what exactly our solar system was, and what was happening in it, civilizations best explanation evolved towards better and better explanations. One paradigmatic leap was that from a geocentric model in which the Earth was at the center of the solar system to the Copernican heliocentric model. In 1687, Newton solved this problem with his great edifice called classical mechanics - Prancipia Mathematica.
