The Different Types of Stereotypes

There are nearly infinite categories of stereotypes that we stereotype people on all different kinds of dimensions. We tend to focus our stereotypes on those features that have some diagnostic utility for the behavior of that individual. Sex and age are perhaps the clearest example of this. And I personally would argue that ecology is another fundamental dimension that we use to stereotype people.
