The Importance of Cultural Fit
The military is based on a fundamental paradox, which is for the combat arms in particular, everybody needs to be considered interchangeable. But at the same time, the military is predicated on everybody needing to think that they are indispensable. And so I think on teams full of operators, the ideas interchangeability and the idea of reflective trust is hugely important. In some regard, it's up to the people above and beyond the operators themselves who have the insight and the ability to sort of keep track when it might go off track.
