International Publishing Deals - It's Amazing, but 80% Are Disappointments

Margaret Atwood: I was on top of the US charts itself. The first international deals rolled in, but it didn't end well because I'm just too freedom loving. In foreign countries, like in Japan, or China, whatever, they never cared that I'm an indie,. And for me too, self help books do well in certain markets and not in others. But we don't learn these things unless we we try.
