i love your thoughts about becoming more humble, becoming more wise. I came to understand the fragility of your average human being and this idea that those people might be weak willed or weak minded,. Now, you're not. And coming to grips with that, i think, is part of the cycle of moving towards wisdom. No one wants to read their own ography. You wouldn't want to do that, right? So if you're a novelist, you have to look at people and just be like, ok, so you're just a human and these judgments. It's very unclear that there are any characterers who are evil or big humbugs in contemporary fiction.
