type systems are like a huge wind in terms of sofwar maintenance. I've been burned so many times by weekly type languages that y cand have done with thata ye. Yet i think igret is so, so useful. There was an issue the other day wherem there's basly a function at was meant to return some information, and it didn't support null. And so we ad up getting a crash at some point saying that neson tried to pass in a null. But because we explicitly ban nulls n this particular function, we got in error.
