The Story of Blueberry
My father, unaware of all this, came home soon after the neighbor called the police. Blueberry was back outside on the porch by then, perched on the step,. My father stared at the strange boy on his steps. He saw the tire tracks from the absent car. Blueberry calmly looked up at my father and blankly said that he was thinking about getting me a vanity for my birthday. The officers bag up the contents of the boxes and the flashes of cameras capture any trace of what had happened that afternoon. They don't find Blueberry, but my father secures protective orders quickly with the connections he has.
