Cris pinch was one of the whips brought in to try and sort out the number ten operation. One tory m p told me that they had raised concerns about his behaviour before. Number 10 initially denied any specific allegations prior to his appointment. But later said it wouldn't have been appropriate to stop him on basis of what they described as unsubstantiated allegation. Jamesa, you've ben listening to all that very patiently.
