Why Do We Have Dogs as Pets?

Hafisa's question: Why don't we keep cute primates as pets? Well, some people do and some people have but we've become more respectful of the richness of nature. They didn't evolve to live as pets in our homes and it makes them miserable. Some of these animals are highly endangered and if we go taking them as pets then we destroy their social communities in the wild.
