Cheryl Giant's Mother's Story

Cheryl Giant's mother, Cheryl O'Carl, was one of 12 pink palace victims murdered by Leonard Lake in 1999. Prosecutors chose not to charge Charles Ng with the murders because it would have been extremely difficult and circumstantial. Today, he remains on California's death row but is unlikely to be executed unless state lifts its moratorium on capital punishment. "I feel like she got the short end of the stick again in life," says her daughter.
