When you're young, traveling internationally is such a useful thing. You are exposed to different traditions by the nature of going to different countries. Ask yourself if I was born in a Buddhist monastery in Thailand, would I have the same ideas that I do now about politics and religion? If I was born impoverished in Nicaragua under a hostile political regime, would I hold the same beliefs that I do about income inequality or whatever it is that you believe)? A lot of those would be completely turned upside down if you were born into different circumstances.
