How Is Imperialism Related to Colonialism?
imperialism is connected to colonialism through their shared underlying economic system capitalism classic colonialism. The process by which european powers invaded occupied and controlled other countries was part of the primitive accumulation phase of capitalism. In order to engage in these acts of inhuman brutality slaughter and domination an ideology of white supremacy and manifest destiny had to be created as well as the idea that indigenous people as an african peoples among others.
