The Importance of Technologies of Distance in Value Formation
David Frum: Moore has a historian's lens that he is working through. That's the strength as well as weakness in some ways. He highlights the importance of technologies of distance, such as shipbuilding, geography, cartography, navigation. But they're not thought of as productive technologies and so-called orthodox Marxism, right? It may be somewhat unclear what they like in a scientific sense, it's not very well specified what they do.
