Eugene Vigner wrote an article in 1960 about the unreasonableness of mathematics to the physical sciences. He asked, why should it be true that the physical world has this intensely mathematical reasonability? And again, he wasn't a religious man particularly, but he said, that's a real puzzle. I'll go from Eugene Vigner to Joseph Rotzinger, who eventually became Pope Benedict XVI and ask him the same question: Why is that true?
