I think there's a disconnect between the layer of the standing of explanation and what philosophers mean or scientists mean by explanation, what expansion should be. And I think it's obviously true in some parts of philosophy. If you work in ethics, for example, you really want to bring back your theorizing about the right, the wrong, about equality,. All these notions with layer concerns, right? After all, you want your views about the right and wrong to inform decision-making in every day life.
