Between 17 90 18 forty, a period of just 50 years, about four point five million people crossed over the appellation mountains to settle in new western areas. People's migratory routes typically followed one of three pathways. At the heart of all these migrations sit midwestern cities that form the centre of these growing trade and exchange networks.
