It is fair to say the Iowa caucuses are part of modern American politics, but there are real questions about their existence. What was really fascinating to me is that the whole process is so kind of folksy and weird, but also it excludes whole groups of people. I think Iowa is something like 2% non-white, and New Hampshire probably not much different from that. They just aren't the kind of places that modern America is anymore,. The Republicans are going to stick with it. And it's easy to see why Joe Biden wants to make this break.
