David Frum: The public has unhelpful expectations when it comes to their politicians. He says voters for parties on the left of British politics, primarily labor, are more psychologically akin to right-wing MPs than those they actually elected. In many ways, that reflects the ideological foundations of UK's center-left parties, he writes. It would seem that basic values is kind of a part of that system of personality and helps people make political choices consistent with them.
