The most common application for tiny ML today is around wake word detection. I think we'll begin to see more and more of this in the future, where it's embedded in smartwatches and activity monitors. And you can buy pillows that detect your sleep patterns and all of these sorts of things. We have a really common use case, which makes me laugh: retrofitting an old industrial system using water pipes or gas pipes. Why not stick a vision model on it that literally reads the dial and then pings off as a digital thing the what the dial is reading? It sounds ridiculous, but if it's trivial to do, then why the hell not retrofit things if it costs
