The Day of the Lord, the Coming of the Son of Man, the Resurrection of the Dead, and the Final Judgment

Christ's return sows up a lot of things. It fills a lot of holes. God's redemptive purpose is not merely a way of salvation for individual souls. It is a purpose for history. Your history has a purpose and a goal that came to move God at his point. The eschatological kingdom will be inaugurated by a single event consisting of the day of the Lord, the coming of the Son of Man, the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment.
