Hannibal's Return to Carthage

After sixteen years, the death of his brothers and an endless series of maneuvers designed to bring the Romans to their knees. Scipio hoped to draw Hannibal into unfriendly territory by threatening Carthage with starvation. The two armies met at Zama, a hundred or so miles southwest of Carthage. After acknowledging the respect each had for the other, they departed back to their own tent to prepare for the final battle.
