The New Parallel Tunnel

There are ten times as many engineers at selent as there are scientists. And alongside the current up grades to the l h c and detectors, some of them have been preparing the underground for the next round of improvements. The protons in the elixear channelled into beams that are finer than a human hair,. billions upon billions of particles squeezed into them by agnets. But that still leaves a lot of empty space between each sub atomic particle. So they're planning to put in stronger magnets to squeeze them even tighter. That will take more power supplies and cooling and other kit which is what the new parallel tunnel is all about.
