LZ Granderson: Willing something into existence is, you know, it's like eating broken glass and staring into the abyss. LZ: You cannot be purely economically motivated to do a startup because there are many times in the middle of it that the rational thing to do is quit. He says people talking about failure from the vantage point of extreme success can talk about failure better than those who have never succeeded after they've failed. The only reason to do a start-up is if you need to build an infrastructure for life extension medicine or some other kind of medical breakthroughs, he says.
