The Holy Post

CHAPTER

The Non-Angry Core of the Church

All those people you mentioned, Phil Willard and Peterson and now Keller, they fit what Mark Sayers describes as a non-anxious presence. Like even though the world seemed to be going crazy and the culture's going nuts and the church's bonkers, they had this really stable gravitational pull to them. That wasn't anxious. It didn't, it wasn't fear driven. They just were who they were. We need more leaders like that. And there are women and men like that, but I think you're right. They're just not old enough to get the attention yet and the longevity of faithfulness. But they'll emerge. Hope so.
