I think the Labour party has done great things on race but it hasn't got the best track record itself in terms of promoting people of colour. It's unbelievable that it's only until recently the NEC the National Executive Committee for the first time has just elected a black man. I could not agree more with that sentiment and I do think that it's actually a really important function of the Labour Party as a genuine progressive force.
