The War on the Mindanau

The mindanau island chain is filled with dense jungles and high mountains. It was also home to fiercely independent moslem and indigenous groups known as moros. Their uprisings had undermined taff's efforts to pacify the colony. As american troops pushed further south, followed by school teachers and administrators, clashes erupted. Deadly battles escalated into an ongoing conflict that would come to be called the moro wars.
