A lot of these scenes are initially born or emerged through, we need to find the right like dichotomous terms here. There's a great post by David Chapman called Geeks, Mops, and Sociopaths. He says basically subcultures begin with a bunch of geeks who just love something. And then once you have a whole cluster of people, then like the profiteering people observe, hey, we can make money from this. But at the same time, often the case, they're not socially very adept.
