Why You Don't Need Blockchain to Address Supply Chain Problems
Backbone in its very early days was meant to be a blockchain infrastructure for the managing of data around hazardous materials. What we found simply put as we started to get into it and take the customers is that massive amounts of information of heterogeneous and low quality data was flowing back and forth between trade partners. So what we've really focused on is automating the heavy lifting around harmonizing data between trade partners, which is really where the crux of the problem is. And we have used a kind of a variety of programmatic and machine learning automation to do that.
