The population of britain continued to grow and grow, but the didn't run out of food. In 18 26, forty per cent of the entire population was under 15 years old. For reference, now it's around 13%. These children were instrumental in the industrial revolution. They worked in the coal mines and in the factories. The major change that happened during the industrial revolution was the types of work that children could do. Given that a large amount of factory work was unskilled, ou didn't require particular knowledge or strength. Instead of paying ten adult men to do a job, you could pay ten children and pay one adult to look over them.
