When you think about idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus do you see that as one group of patients or a melting pot of different things? I don't think there's a lot of data to guide opinion so it is very much just my opinion. The classification of hydrocephalus is done poorly in general and I know it's something that the hydrocephalus society are working on. They tend to be the congenital cases that presented in adulthood but if you've got good radiological specific features then that's when you start to think this could well be a shunt sensitive syndrome, Hakeem says.
