Building a Mosque in Bolton

The mosque was established and built by migrants from Gujarat who started settling in this part of Bolton from the 1950s. The building was funded by the congregation and so it was built slowly opening in 1983. It took another 10 years before the mosque could think about further works. In 1993 planning commission was approved for a first floor extension and in 1994 approval for a new roof with the dome and minarets, all of which were built afterwards.
