China has become a world leader in technological production with these massive technological innovators like Huawei that the US is trying to ban now. China did not simply develop by opening its market and privatizing everything and allowing foreign corporations to come in without any rules. It made sure that in return for having access to one Chinese workers and the huge Chinese market, it required that foreign companies make partnerships with local Chinese firms. This is one of the ways in which China has skyrocketed in its manufacturing output from 5% of global manufacturing in the 1990s to today more than 30%.
