The Metaphysics of Evil

Everything even in the world is a lack of something. A good metaphor for this might be Swiss cheese. The holes is precisely where you don't have the cheese, and you could have had cheese. So there's some potential cheese there that hasn't been actualized. In the intelligible world, everything is purely actual. There is no potentiality at all. And Platonus thinks that because matter is pure potentiality, it can explain the presence of imperfection and evil in the world.
