Introduction
Marie Lattelle was strangled to death at midnight in her parents parlor. The doors had been locked and there were no signs of forced entry nor of a struggle. There was only one suspect, Emil Gorbin, Marie's reputedly hot headed boyfriend. But when Emil was arrested he presented an airtight alibi. He'd been partying and playing cards with a group of friends. They all vouched that he'd been with them until the stumbling drunks had finally passed out.
