I think depression touches more or less every life. There's no real escape from it. And I think the cost of secrecy is enormous. It's so tiring and takes so much energy to keep secrets. The idea of going out and making friends when you're feeling miserable is almost inconceivable. For a lot of them just the discovery that other people also have had these feelings makes a huge difference.
