During that civil rights spring and summer of 1963, Aretha also recorded what many think of as the best of her Columbia albums. A collection of jazz standards called Laughing on the Outside included songs like Solitude, Oh My Miver and I Wanna Be Around. The opening track Skylark was Atter James's favourite ever, Aretha Franklin performance - regarded by many as the definitive take on the song.
