The Importance of Dolls in the 1990s

The conflict of this episode was inspired by metella's controversial teen talk barbie released in 90-tighty-two which infamously spoke phrases like i love shopping and math class is tough aqua also released their hit single barbie girl in 1997 characterizing barbie as dumb materialistic and less than wholesome to say the least however billboards larry flick detected a feminist angle in his review of the song saying at the same time she effectively rants about the inherent misogyny
