All frozen shoulders need to have an x-ray categorically just to rule out any of this sinister pathology there has been a slight increase in in missed um humeral head metastases due to primary care clinicians referring for ultrasounds rather than x-rays as a first imaging technique. You can probably do that clinically but you cannot be 100% certain until you've got an ap and an lateral view on an X-ray. A lot of frozen shoulders don't sleep very well because they're so uncomfortable with the constant dull nagging pain all the time. They get these really sharp jolts when they move too fast or somebody bangs into it which are red flag symptoms.
