Purgatory is this idea that when a Christian dies, there's this intermediate step of purification from sin before you are ready to enter heaven. There's been a lot of changes in how that's understood in Roman Catholic theology. But by the way, renders the gospel, the meaning of the gospel, which is good news, it kind of renders that obsolete because it's not good.
