Psychologist Freud came up with his own answer which was the death wish. He had an idea that organic life had a and humans had a will towards self-destruction. That's where the lust for destruction that Einstein referred to came from. But that doesn't seem to have many if any followers today. The thing that gave it a real boost was writings by Robert Ardery who was a playwright and a screenwriter. And he wrote about, he took all of these ideas,. He took Dart, Lorentz and others. And he came up with a very dismal view of humanity. Although he thought war was a good thing. War was responsible for most of the progress humanity
