The Relationship Between Jesus and the Samaritan Woman
The marital themes evoked by meeting a woman at a well might also be significant here. The unknown persons who are summoned by the woman are destined to become family. Jesus initially violates social boundaries however, he does this not simply to transgress society, but to transform and restore society.
