The Effects of NSAIDs on the Kidneys
Prostaglandins are important in that control mechanism to increase the flow. When CO2 levels are high, you get vasodilation; when oxygen levels are low, you get Vasoconstriction. The opposite is true at the lungs because they're there to help feed the blood as opposed to the blood to feed the lungs. So this is why abuse of NSAIDs or taking them appropriately can injure your kidneys.
