Rommel's Victory in the War Against the Soviet Union
Rommel is an absolutely brilliant battlefield commander but what he never quite realized was that the whole north africa campaign was really just a bit of a side show. The real war was the war against the soviet union and that was where hitler was focused that was where the general staff were focusing on. There was never any prospect of him being able to get a big enough army that would allow him to advance eastwards into egypt and capture egypt rommel always thought that he could have a bit more if he said what he needed then someone would sort it out for him.
