How the Church Self-Reports Growth

In 2019, Seventh-day Adventists reported 21.4 million members with an activity rate of around 45%. In 2020, outside of the United States, only 28% of people who are on church records actually identified as LDS on national censuses. The Church counts baptisms meticulously, but rarely reports activity rates or on the number of people who leave the Church.
