The boldness of wolves in the wild is linked to increased social status and possibly even reproduction rates. Wolves infected with a T. Gondii parasite that makes them act bolder, were 11 times more likely than uninfected wolves to leave their birth family and start a new pack. The infected wolves were also 46 times more likely to become pack leaders.
