Emojis Are a New System of Representation
I think we have to sort of not take everything at face value in the sense that, I mean, so you refer to these kind of gifts which get used to express a certain kind of emotion. And after all, most of us use emojis. Nobody would sort of think that there's something intrinsically kind of fake about them. But where things become more difficult is particularly with the power dynamics that arise from some uses of surveillance technologies like Candid Camera and You've Been Framed.
