The Theory That Thomas North Was Using His Experiences to Write the Winners Tale
Shakespeare may have written some plays that Shakespeare was had either seen or had access to a written version of it. So, so the theory that Dennis has proposed is that Thomas North actually used his experiences to write a play that was sort of an early version of the winners tale and probably wrote it close to the time of that delegation in the 1550s. And then when Queen Elizabeth took the throne and was a Protestant, you couldn't really have kind of an overtly Catholic play with her on the throne. Then years later, either sold it to Shakespeare or he acquired it through one of the theater companies of the day and then turned that into the winter's tale, which was produced in 16
